Spencer Lynx Wins Active Wandsworth Award

The Spencer Lynx team has won the Wandsworth Active Award for Best Activity Project 2019. They were presented with the award by Sky Sports' David Garrido, and were joined on stage by Spencer Lynx Ambassador, GB and England International, Rhys Smith. The Awards were held at Wandsworth Town Hall, and celebrated the work of amazing volunteers throughout the borough. There were speeches by some inspiring young sports stars and sports coordinators, who do incredible work in the community.

Marcia is London's Unsung Hero

Spencer Lynx co-founder, Marcia Gurney-Champion, has been crowned London's Unsung Hero 2019. Marcia was presented with her award at a Spencer Lynx training session, much to the excitement of the Lynx team and all the children. The award recognises Marcia's incredible commitment in running Spencer Juniors Hockey Club, and her part in co-founding Spencer Lynx. Marcia and her family attended SPOTY in Aberdeen in December 2019, where she was honoured on stage with all the other regional Unsung Heroes, and where she met some of her very own sporting heroes, at the incredible after party. Well Done Marcia!

Spencer Lynx launches Hockey Lynx

Hockey Lynx is Spencer Lynx’s partnership programme, through which we partner, assist or otherwise support organisations to deliver hockey to local children in their communities. Launched in 2022, we are happy to work with schools, universities and other hockey clubs to run programmes embodying the key aims of Spencer Lynx. We know that there is not a one size-fits-all model for delivering outreach sport, and what will work for one might not work for others. But we are happy to help! If you would like to discuss working with us, or would just like to chat, please email us at spencerlynxhockey@gmail.com including as the subject - 'Hockey Lynx'.

Case Studies to follow, and our exciting Hockey Lynx logo!
