Safeguarding & Child Welfare
Safeguarding
Spencer Lynx follows recommended child safeguarding and best practice as laid down by our governing body, England Hockey. All coaches and managers have been DBS checked, and have undergone safeguarding training.
All children are required to wear a mouthguard and shinpads for training and fixtures, and are not allowed to take part in the absence of this protective equipment.
Child Welfare Officer
Our Child welfare Officer is Julia Oldham. If you have any concerns about the welfare of a child playing at Spencer Lynx , or about child welfare or safeguarding in general, or wish to file a complaint, please contact Julia at juliaoldham@me.com. If you are unable to reach Julia, please contact one of the Spencer Lynx trustees at SpencerLynxHockey@gmail.com.
First Aid
Although hockey is a relatively safe sport, accidents do happen and injuries are incurred from time to time. All our coaches are trained in first aid, and there are first aid kits at all training sessions and at fixtures.
Covid-19
We carefully follow and adhere to the guidlelines set down by our National Governing Body, England Hockey, and the Government in delivering hockey in a manner compliant with Covid-19 safety requirements.
